The Economic Transformation Division’s mission is to accelerate the growth of New Jersey’s economy by implementing initiatives that enhance the State’s long-term economic competitiveness and establish New Jersey as an innovation leader within high job growth strategic sectors, including life sciences and technology, clean energy, film and digital media, and advanced manufacturing.
NJEDA’s Director – Life Science Partnership is responsible for developing and managing strategic business relationships with New Jersey large and high-growth Life Science companies. The Director – Life Science Partnerhsips helps all businesses in the industry understand the State’s overall value proposition, connect with other industry and academic stakeholders, and advises them on products from NJEDA (and other State entities) that could support their growth. He or she is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to support the overall growth of the Life Science industry in New Jersey. The Director will work with, and provide strategic counsel to, the NJEDA’s leadership team and members of the Governor’s Office Economic Develompent Team on relevant industry policy matters. In addition, the Director maintains a general working knowledge of other NJEDA Programs and Departments in order to support, promote, and manage NJEDA’s offerings effectively to manage external and internal relationships. This individual will identify opportuites for the state to further advance it’s strategic position in the life science industry in the state. They will have deep relationships with all key industry leaders and identify opportunities for state engagement. The Director will build and manage a team that will focus on client engagement and partnerships to support overall growth of the Life Sciences Industry in New Jersey.

Job Summary
The Venture Programs Engagement Manager is responsible for shaping the Authority’s efforts to accelerate engagement and catalyze investment into New Jersey's innovation ecosystem. The successful candidate will drive execution and management of products owned by a collaborative team of experts identifying and evaluating key stakeholders, providing research support, and enhancing program processes.
The successful candidate will lead and develop relationshipswith corporations, entrepreneurs and investorscoordinating with the Venture Investment Manager across the team’s product portfolio including, but not limited to, the New Jersey Innovation Evergreen Fund (NJIEF), New Jersey Innovation Fellows (NJIF), Venture Fund Investments (LP investments), Life Sciences Fund, Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individuals (SEDI) Seed Fund, the Black and Latino Seed Fund program, Diversity Finance Advisory Board and the NJEDA’s engagement in the Golden Seeds initiative plus NJ Founders & Funders. Core responsibilities for the job includebuilding strong relationships with key industry stakeholders,emerging innovation entrepreneurs that may benefit by investor engagement, and public and private sector partners; overseeing the New Jersey Innovation Evergreen Fund annual auction process to raise $300 million of investment capital; monitoring, enhancing, and increasing the effective outcome of strategic commitments put forward to the benefit of New Jersey’s innovation economy.
The applicant should have a first-hand insight ofinvestor and/or corporate relations and business development. Program and project management experience within the investment industry is a plus. Job Summary
The EDA Infarstructure group is developing the New Jersey Wind Port, the nation’s first green field port developed exclusively to serve the offshore wind energy industry. We seek an intern to support multiple functions related to management of preconstruction activites at the Wind Port. These include supporting Project Officers with managing project schedules, maintaining accountability from stakeholders for project deliverables (including permitting and engineering documents), and ensuring proper compliance with legal requirements and project objectives. The intern will have the opportunity to attend meetings with multiple project stakeholders, including engineers, construction managers, permittingspecialists, and EDA team members. This is an ideal internship for a candidate interested in managing large scale development projects that have positive economic impact and public benefit.

Within the NJEDA, the Offshore Wind Team seeks to accelerate the growth of New Jersey’s offshore wind industry by conceiving and implementing initiatives that enhance the state’s long term economic competitiveness and the development of New Jersey as a regional hub for offshore wind.
The Intern will receive exposure to offshore wind sector development policy, project and program analysis, building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and interacting with numerous government agencies, private sector entities, and non-profit partners.
Interns can work 10-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring sememsters. Summer interns can work up to 35 hours per week for 8 weeks.
