Job Summary   The Managing Director – Technology Innovation is the Authority’s leader and industry expert on a portfolio of 10+ capital investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship products and initiatives, with an anticipated annual value of $200+ million. The Managing Director is forward-facing to the public and will foster strong working relationships with key industry stakeholders. This individual will engage regularly with private sector c-suite leaders and senior government stakeholders. The Managing Director will serve as an innovation economy advocate and champion within State government. The position serves as a public face of the Authority and the State on technology innovation industries and products, and economic development matters. The Managing Director leads a team of 10+ economic development professionals at the Authority including serving as a resource for the NJ Commission on Science, Innovation & Technology (CSIT). CSIT is a “sister” agency to the Authority with a separate board of Directors and Executive Director.   The individual is responsible for shaping and leading the Authority’s efforts to ensure the State’s long-term competitiveness in the innovation economy through products delivered to the market. This position is responsible for leading a team which manages, develops, structures, and implements products and initiatives that align with the goals and strategies stated in the State’s economic plan. This organizational leadership role is further responsible for the attractiveness, effectiveness, and operational excellence of the respective products all while maintaining the highest level of fiduciary responsibility.   $129,744 - $162,180   Note: The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

The NJEDA’s Manufacturing, Incentives & Tax Credit department manages products that assist businesses looking to expand their footprint in New Jersey by identifying industry gaps and engaging with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist in the execution and management of these products by providing administrative maintenance, creating marketing materials, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with program research, education, and processes. The candidate will gain an in-depth insight into the facilitative role of State government in through assignments and research involving policy creation, business development, government operations, and program analysis. Job Summary   Responsible for overseeing the Authority’s centralized invoice intake and tracking process, providing accurate visibility of payments owed and reducing cycle time to disbursements in accordance with the New Jersey Prompt Payment Act [P.L. 1987, Chapter 184]. Informs Management on the aging of accounts payable and identification of appropriate amounts to accrue for monthly financial reporting purposes.   Job Summary   The International Innovation and Partnership (IIP)intern will work alongside the Director of International Innovation and Partnershipand other members of the team to support a variety of initiatives and priority projects that advance the goals of the Authority. Specifically, the Intern – International Innovation and Partnerships will provide support in coordinating with global entities, including business, academia, government officials and organizations to build economic relations, investment opportunities, and agreements from abroad with NJEDA. The role will require memo writing, event planning, research, attending international networking events and the creation of projects and initiatives designed to promote NJEDA’s relationship locally and internationally.

Undergraduate students will receive $16.00-18.00 per hour and graduate students will receive $23.00 per hour.

NJEDA is supporting the launch of the Wind Institute for Innovation and Training (Wind Institute). The Wind Institute will be a new independent authority charged with advancing offshore wind workforce development, education, research, and innovation efforts that support the growth of New Jersey's offshore wind industry and the state's position as a regional offshore wind hub.   The Intern will work directly with the leadership of the Wind Institute to support and coordinate key initiatives that further the Wind Institute’s mission.     Interns can work 10-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters. Summer interns can work up to 35 hours per week for 8 weeks     Graduate students are qualified to apply and paid $23.00 per hour for this internship.
