Job Overview

  • Supports the Operations Division by assisting with Economic Transformation programs, Community Development programs, and other current products, by reviewing applications for eligibility and compliance, inputting and organizing related data, and corresponding with applicants as needed for clarification.
  • Learns Microsoft Dynamics CRM in order to compile and organize program documentation for current and future reference.
  • Completes initial legal reviews per internal guidelines, learns to identify issues such as fraud or applicant errors.
  • Works closely with core staff on business analysis and applicant verification of information; responsible for maintaining tracking documents, spreadsheets, and files in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Performs other duties and works on special projects or additional programs as assigned.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the processing and management of product transactions.
  • Support the team in daily operational tasks and ensure compliance with organizational procedures.

Projects:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new operational strategies to enhance productivity.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Aim to streamline transaction processes to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Minimize errors and re-reviews of applications.

Collaboration and Cross-Divisional Interaction:

  • Work collaboratively with team members across the Operations department to achieve project goals.
  • Engage with other departments as needed, especially Product Teans, Legal Affairs, Accounting.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to either of the Directors in the division, or their delegates.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare data visualization materials and other relevant documentation for the sector leaders

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload; must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and handle various tasks simultaneously; must work independently within limited time constrains with little supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with internal and external parties.

 

 

Certifications:

  • None required

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional setting (e.g. internship, office work, work-study, etc.) preferred
  • Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g. business, law, finance, public policy, political science)

Software/Tools Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software and systems
  • NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Minimal physical demands and ability to work out normal business hours
  • Travel expected when necessary for business operations

 

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position.

Position Requirements

 

  • Foreign degrees/transcripts must be evaluated by a reputable evaluation service at your own expense and must be submitted prior to a start date. If this cannot be provided within 21 days of an offer the offer will be rescinded.
