    Job Summary


    The Marketing & Product Officer helps to advance EDA’s marketing and product development initiatives, and manages coordination of the development and implementation of new and modified products and programs to increase awareness and image of the organization and support business development efforts.


    $48,540 - $60,675


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Assists in coordinating the product development process, working cross-organizationally to achieve alignment, integration and successful implementation.
    • Works with Program Manager and staff to ensure all product and program information and messaging is current and aligned, including website content.
    • Works with other departments to identify industry and market data to inform marketing and product strategy development.
    • Oversees preparation of marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data to track ROI, and evaluates findings for consideration in future planning.
    • Helps support business development through product enhancement and focused marketing, advancing efforts and utilizing tools aligned with organizational and Administration priorities.
    • Supports Program Manager in overseeing relationship with marketing services consulting firm.
    • Manages work with external vendors and partners, including leading rebranding and related efforts.
    • Works with the Communications Manager and staff to support and enhance social media channels, assisting in planning and posting content.
    • Supports preparation of policy, communications and/or event briefings, and assists in the production of EDA’s annual report and other required reports.  
    • Assists in managing development and preparation of presentations, newsletters, marketing campaigns and marketing collateral.
    • Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
    • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.


    Required Skills and Abilities


    • Good understanding of marketing standards and practices and specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
    • Strong writer with excellent communication and editing skills.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat); Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook); and social media tools (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogging).  Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
    • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages



    Required Qualifications


    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
    • 2-5 years professional experience in marketing or communications.
    • Experience working with external vendors preferred.


    Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience

    • Ability to work outside normal business hours, as needed
