    Job Summary


    Manages customer relationships of a high-volume portfolio of incentive customers from approval to closing.  Monitors progress and conditions to maintain approval for incentive grants and tax credit awards.  

     $55,643 - $59,554


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Serves as the primary customer relationship liaison for complex and significant monetary valued incentives grants or tax credit award recipients, post approval through the closing. Collaboratively coordinates relationship management with Bonds and Incentives, Underwriting, Closing, and Post-Closing.
    • Monitors applicant’s compliance with conditions of approval prior to closing of grant/awards and ensures current financial and other information has been received, reviewed and is satisfactory to fulfill those conditions.  Communicates timing issues, inconsistencies with submissions and has critical/difficult conversations to manage expectations/outcomes of finalizing awards.
    • Meets with existing customers including senior level executives, business consultants and accountants to discuss grant/tax credit award agreements terms to ensure a thorough understanding of conditions required to fulfill the approval.
    • Reviews customer requests for modifications to approvals and prepares recommendation memorandum for approval. Attends Incentives Committee and NJEDA Board meetings to present projects and respond to questions from Board members regarding modification submissions and general program requirements.
    • Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
    • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

    • Must be able to develop a high level of proficiency in understanding and applying NJ statutory and EDA policy guidelines in order to effectively interpret Real Estate Incentive Agreements
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff
    • Strong decision-making ability
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff
    • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to learn new software packages



    Required Qualifications


    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent professional experience in Business, Finance, Economic
    • Five years work experience in Business, Finance, Economic Development or related field
    • Real Estate Development, Economic Development and/or Commercial Lending preferred
    • Experience with legal documents a plus
    • Demonstrated experience with finance and secured lending a plus


    Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience
